Where Do You Find The Time?

Believe it or not, I have a really busy life, both social and academic. So, since I have absolutely NO free time, it is pretty hard to sit down and type up a blog post or write a novel.

On school nights, I have homework and football. On weekends, I usually have at least one party and family stuff.

I can't see a book being finished any time soon. Writers of the world, where do you find the time to be so amazing and actually write your books? Because wherever this so-called "time" is hidden, I need to find it.

Also, I really want to write a book called LEVITATE. The title won't get out of my head. I know I want it to be paranormal, but what kind of creature should it be about?

  1. I know how you feel! 10th is going to kill me! lol. Well, I usually do things with blogging on Fridays and Saturdays. Sundays are mostly for weekend homework!

Hmmm...I'm not sure. my current WIP has to do with shape shifters (hence, I didn't say werewolves) but you could do something that can fly? LEVITATE makes me think of...levitating and to a greater extent, flying.

  2. I wrote about 8 novels in high school because I did no extra-curricular activities and no social life whatsoever! I made it my life. Now that I'm in college I only have classes two days a week, and I work three days a week, and on my days off I wake up at six to write. You have to make it a priority in your life. Make some sacrifices sometimes.

  3. Hmm. When you say Levitate, I think of witches. But there are alot of witch books out there already. How about . . . goblins or ghosts! Goblins have nothing to do with the word levitate but you could make them so they CAN levitate. But I think the ghost is better.

  4. I feel the same way. I have football after school until six then about two hours of homework. But I end up staying up until twelve on school nights anyways, reading or writing. I have always writen and I really want to get published. Extremely. I wish you luck with your works. And about Levitate, I thikn poltergeists could work because they are said to move things etc. so maybe it could work. Its pretty funny becuase I'm in the same situation. I have the name Harvest stuck in my head as a title but I don't know what to make it about.

  5. I sit down and force myself to write. Maybe do extra something one day so you have extra time another day.

Eventually the creatures will come to you!

  6. You use any time you can. In the bus or in the car, if there's any free time during your classes, during lunch at school, etc. You need to be creative in the ways to find and make time. And, if a story or idea comes to you, you have to take the time to write it all out, no matter what.

For Levitate, I'm thinking of a guy who has telekinesis. It's hard to describe exactly who this guy is, even though I have a picture of him in my mind. The only way I can think to sum it up is that the novel and people in it are kind of dark and not really very good, and the main character struggles with his ability and what is right and wrong, and most often is on the wrong side of the spectrum. About how people can abuse their power and such. I don't know, just what came into my head...
